Hello there bargain hunting monogram lovers.
As much as I hate to do it, The Monogram Swap will be closing in about 30 days. As of December 1, 2011 the website will no longer have a little spot in cyber space. I have enjoyed the past couple of years and met some great people in the process, but it’s time to move on.
I am expecting our second child in January, and life is about to get really busy. I know I won’t be able to dedicate the time I would like towards the website, and it cannot run itself. So, what does this mean for you?
1. If you plan on making any purchases, I would do it now. Sometimes people are a little slow to ship, so give yourself some wiggle room on the Dec. 1st deadline.
2. If you have items listed that you still want to sell, try posting them on the facebook page. I have a love/hate relationship with the facebook page because it takes away from my business, however, out of the goodness of my heart I am going to leave the facebook page up.
3. If you buy from someone who has posted on the facebook page, you are on your own. I created the page as a way for people to promote their items, not as a means of buying and selling. Now, that is what it has turned into, but I can’t help you track down people who don’t ship, etc. Hopefully you will only deal with nice honest people:)
So, with that being said, thank you so much for your business over the past couple of years and I hope you continue to find goodies on the facebook page. Oh, and people with girl K stuff, keep it coming:)
Thanks again-
Lauren

Hello friends,
This little website is looking for a new home. My owner loves me very much and had a great time creating me and getting me up and running. The problem is, she tends to have adult ADD and is ready to move on to the next adventure.
I’m looking for someone to adopt me. An ideal candidate would have a few hours a week to spend with me, knowledge of paypal and facebook, and a love for monogrammed items. If you are good with website programming that would be an added bonus. If not, you can always find good help!
I’m not high-maintenance and even come with a pre-made blog! I really am a nice little website.
Adoption fees are very reasonable for the right person. If you’re interested, please contact my owner. Her name is Lauren and she’d love to fill you in on the details. {lauren@themonogramswap.com}
Thank you!

I’m toying around with a new idea, but need your input.
I know a lot of people who like monogrammed clothing also like smocked things. I have gotten a few inquiries about whether smocked items could be posted. I have always had to say no because we only take items that are personalized with a name or initials.
However, I am not opposed to adding a smocked category. What do y’all think? Do you have smocked items you’d like to sell? Would you buy smocked things from this site?
Leave a comment and let me know!
Thanks:)

Happy New Year everyone!
I love January because it seems like you have a chance to do better than last year. The Monogram Swap is definitely looking forward to 2011. We have over 2,000 fans on Facebook and new items are being listed everyday. Because we have so many new customers, I want to give a quick reminder about how things work.
The Website
The Monogram Swap is an online store for anything personalized. You may list items for sale as long as they are monogrammed with a name, a-three letter monogram or a one-letter monogram. You are paid at the end of each month for items sold during that month. There are no listing fees and TMS takes only 10%.
The Facebook Page
The Monogram Swap Facebook page has three main purposes:
1. A place for people to list items they are looking for. A “wish list” of sorts.
2. A place for people to announce that they have recently posted items on The Monogram Swap website. A way to let buyers know about new items.
3. A way for The Monogram Swap to get information out to our customers.
The Blog
Another way to let buyers know what’s on the website. Also a place to announce specials on monogrammed items, giveaways, and other fun stuff.
If you have any questions about how things work or what is and isn’t ok, please shoot me a note. I’d love to hear from you!

If you’re looking for stockings, check out The Monogram Swap!
There are both new and pre-owned stockings from great places like Pottery Barn Kids, just as an example.
Go to the website and type the word, “stocking” in the search box on the upper right hand side. You might just find what you’re looking for!
My little one had her, “Happy Birthday Jesus” party at pre-school today. Today also happens to be my birthday and this morning she informed me, “It is not your birthday. It is Jesus’ birthday.”
I almost told her that actually it IS my birthday and if you want to get down to the facts, most people think Jesus was not actually born near Christmas. However, seeing as that would certainly be lost on a 2 year old I said, “Well, Jesus and I can share.”
Hope you’re having a great week so far!!

The best birthday gift I received was a Tiffany Heart Toggle Bracelet and matching Necklace for one of my fiance and I’s dating anniversaries. He brought me Chick Fil A for lunch and asked them for some clean boxes and he put the jewlery in them and surprised me
It was very thoughtful and cute. Happy early birthday!
